The banks of the Mekong
are home to a fascinating variety of cultures
and lifestyles which remain as unchanged and
enduring as the rhythm of the river itself.
Cruise for 9 days from the capital of Cambodia -
Phnom Penh to Siem Reap - location of the World
Heritage Site at Angkor. The tour includes a
city tour of Phnom Penh, an excursion on Tonle
Sap Lake, visits to a floating village, the
ancient capital of Oudong, Angkor Wat and
Banteay Srei temple, Roluos Group and other
temples.
Detail Itinerary
Day
1:
Phnom Penh
Arrive in Phnom Penh and transfer to hotel.
Lunch at hotel.
In the afternoon visit of Wat Phnom, the Wat
Ounalum and the National Museum.
Dinner at a local restaurant. Accommodation at
hotel.
Day 2: Phnom Penh
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit of the Tuol Sleng Museum and the Russian
Market.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon visit of the Royal Palace and
the Silver Pagoda. Rest of afternoon free at
leisure. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.
Day 3: Phnom Penh - Kompong Chang - Cruise departure
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to pier to embark
the Toum Teav Boat.
Start your cruise on the Bassac River to Oudong.
Visit of the ancient capital of Cambodia. Visit
the various temples and the three large stupas
where the ashes of three former kings are
preserved. Then stop at Prek Kdam to visit a
small silver handicraft village.
Lunch on board.
On the way to Kompong Tralach - visit its
wonderful pagoda. Dinner & overnight on board.
Day 4: Kompong Chang - Kompong Luong - Cruise
Breakfast on board.
Sail to Kompong Chang for a short visit of this
small town and continue to Shnok Tru, the last
big village before the Bassac River meets the
Great Lake of Tonle Sap.
Lunch on board. Continue to Kompong Luong, one
of the largest floating villages on the lake.
Dinner & overnight on board while anchored near
Kompong Luong.
Day 5: Kompong Luong - Siem Reap - Cruise arrival
Breakfast on board.
Half day tour on the Great Lake of Tonle Sap.
Relax in the library or on the deck prior to
arrival in Siem Reap. Sail along a small canal.
Disembark at Chnok Trou and transfer by daily
speedboat from Chnok Trou to the pier of Siem
Reap and transfer to Siem Reap hotel.
Lunch at hotel.
Afternoon, visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom,
Bayon, Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Elephant
Terrace and Leper King Terrace. Dinner at local
restaurant. Overnight hotel.

Note: |
During the
dry season (March-July), the low level of the Tonle Sap
River does not permit the Toum Teav boat to disembark at
pier. The boat will disembark at Chnok Trou, the last
village before the Tonle Sap lake. In this case we will
operate by road from Chnok Trou to Siem Reap. Please
find below the details.

Disembark
from Toum Teav boat at Chnok Trou and meet guide for
transfer to Siem Reap overland.
Drive to Siem Reap via Pursat, Battambang and
Sisophon.
Lunch at local restaurant in Battambang then continue
to Siem Reap visiting the Pouk Silk farm on route.
Arrive Siem Reap and transfer to hotel. Dinner and
overnight at hotel. |
Day 6:
Siem Reap
Breakfast at hotel.
Visit Banteay Srei temple and Roluos Group: Lolei, Bakong
and Preah Ko temples.
Lunch at local restaurant.
Visit Angkor Wat temple until sunset. Dinner and
accommodation at hotel.
Day 7:Siem Reap
Breakfast at hotel.
Excursion to Kbal Spean, the River of the Thousand Lingas.
Lunch at local restaurant near Kbal Spean and back to Siem
Reap in the afternoon.
Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at hotel.
Day 8:Siem Reap
Breakfast at hotel. Full day excursion to Beng Melea. Picnic
lunch on site.
Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 9: Siem Reap Departure
Breakfast at hotel.
In Siem Reap, visit the "Chantiers Ecoles - Les Artisans
d'Angkor" which provides training to young Cambodians in an
effort to revive the ancient Khmer traditions of
stone-carving and wood-sculpting. Stroll around at the local
market of Siem Reap.
Lunch at hotel.
Afternoon at leisure until departure. End of services.

Toum Teav - Boat Description
|

This
traditional Khmer wooden boat provides just the
right ambiance for a relaxing cruise between
Cambodia's main cities. M/V Toum Teav.is nicely
decorated and equipped with 10 cabins (7m2) and
bathrooms with shower (3m2), a library salon, a
sundeck and an open restaurant. |
1. Please note that this is
a typical itinerary, but times and places will often
change. The itinerary is only to give you an idea of
the type of programme that you will experience.
2. The
transfer from Siem Reap to Battambang by our wooden
boat takes about 6 to 7 hours from August to March.
During the dry season (Mar/April to July) -
transfers can take 9 hours due to low level water
levels in Ton Le Sap Lake and the Sangker River. In
this case we will provide a transfer by road from
Siem Reap to Battambang.
