Qingdao
Badaguan (Eight Passes) is named after the eight
passes of the Great Wall. Located in the city center, the
passes are planted with trees of various blooms blossoming
in different seasons, such as peaches, crabapples, pine
trees and ginkgoes. This area is known for its many villas,
and with more than 200 western architecture in different
styles, it is also called the Architecture
Museum.
Dolphin Park Constructed in May 1995, it is the first
Dolphin Park in China. It covers an area of 40 thousand sq.
m. with 2500 seats. You can enjoy the dolphins` performance
while gaining some knowledge on these wonderful marine
mammals while you are there.
Tai Shan Of all China's sacred mountains Tai'shan
draws the most worshippers and pilgrims to its 4500 ft (1500
M) summit. Many stay the night to watch the sunrise as well,
for Tao legend has it that the sun begins his western
journey from this point.
Tsingtao Beer Factory was established in 1903 and has
the longest beer brewing history in China. It owns the world
famous Tsingtao beer brand which has a solid domestic and
international market and has won many gold medals. The Group
is the largest beer exporter and the second largest brewer
in China's beer industry. A visit to the factory is a must
for all beer lovers.
Mt. Laoshan
is one of China's scenic mountains and famous for many
Taoist temples, is located some thirty kilometers east of
the coastal city of Qingdao. It was regarded as the "Home of
Immortals" in ancient times, and has long been favored by
Taoists and monks. Scattered on the mountain are nine
palaces, eight scenic spots and 72 monasteries, making it
the second largest Taoist center in the country and well
worth a visit.
Ocean Day Cruises Yes you can sail the waters off
Qingdao and discover the views of the surrounding coast from
the deck of one of the many tour boats in the area. A
wonderful opportunity that the whole family can enjoy.
Sightseeing TV Tower Qingdao Sightseeing TV Tower, honored as "the No.1 Steel Tower in China", is located on the top of 116-meter-high Taiping Hill in Julin Hill Park. At a height of 232 m. it is the highest scenic spot in Qingdao. It takes 52 seconds to climb the 130-meter-high "Emerald" ball-shaped tower by the high-speed elevator. The rolling silver-coloured flying -saucer-shaped hall provides you with a bird's eye view of the city. On the top of the tower, there is a sightseeing platform where visitors can get some great photos of the surrounding area.
Zhanshan Temple
Situated at the foot of Zhanshan Hill and to the east of
Taiping Hill, this temple was built in 1945. It has five
halls and a pagoda, with an area of 20,000 square meters.
The temple boasts a large collection of skillfully carved
statues of Buddha and Buddhist scriptures.
Zhanqiao Pier Reaching out into the bay from the foot
of one of the city's bustling shopping areas, Zhanqiao pier
stretches some 440 m. from Taiping Road to its southern
extremity far out to sea. At the southern end of the pier
there is a typical Chinese octagonal structure called Huilan
Pavilion. After several restorations, the pier, built in
1891 as a warehouse, has become a major landmark and symbol
of Qingdao.
