Is it the ultimate rafting experience you're looking for? Green
Discovery is offering one of the most adrenalin pumping routes in
Laos - an expedition through the Xaisomboun Special Zone.
You'll be safely guided by internationally trained river guides down
World Class Grade 5 rapids on the Nam Ngum river, paddling through
steep sided gorges where only the most intrepid venture.
A safety kayak accompanies the raft all the way.
Note: For an optional A/C 4WD
minibus or 4WD Jeep an extra are added per tour group.
Day 1:
The
group leaves from Vientiane or Vang Vieng to the cross roads in Tha
Heua. From here, a 3-hour drive along a rough road passes through
scenic countryside, several small towns and two Special Zone
checkpoints. A picnic lunch is followed by the preparation of the
raft, safety briefing and paddle instructions. Each paddler is
provided with a dry bag.
3 hours on the river take you through stretches of flat water and 3
class IV rapids passing by amazing scenery. Arrival at the camp at
around 4 pm.
Day 2:
Up
very early the next day, 3 hours of 3 hours of rafting take the team
through eleven class 3-5 rapids before approaching the Nam Ngum
Lake. This really is world class rafting: the thrill of challenging
the mighty Nam Ngum amidst beautiful forests in such a remote area.
After reaching the Nam Ngum Lake, a motorboat takes you for a scenic
cruise past many exotic islands - a relaxing afternoon rounds off
the most exhilarating rafting trip available in Laos today.
Transport back to Vang Vieng: 40 mins., to Vientiane: 2 1/2 hours.
