its way through mild rapids and sand bank, arriving in
time for a lunch on riverside. We then enjoy a guided
TRIP to the ruins of Wat Phu which is well known as the
most important Hindu sanctuary of the Khmer Empire
between 9th
and 13th century. The festival of this site
is yearly held during the full moon in February and
attracts numerous pilgrims from all over southern Laos.

surrounding temples of Nang Sia and Thao Tao. O/N on
board. (L,D)
DAY 2: HOUEI
TOMO - OUPMOUNG - KHONG ISLAND
Today, we continue our river
trip with the next stop being Huei Thamo village. Here
is a chance to take a walk to visit the hidden temple of
Oum Moung in the spectacular setting of forest. The
cruise lets us south to the widest reach of the Mekong
River from where thousands of islets jut out in dry
season, giving this area a lovely name "Si Phan Done" .
We anchor to explore the peaceful Khong Island and the
village of Muang Kong where villagers still retain their
age old cultural traditions. The perfect way to round
off the day is to watch the spectacular sunset over the
Mekong River from our cruise. O/N on board. (B,L,D)
DAY 3: BAN

The pace of our trip is very
relaxed, a perfect way to observe rural life close up.
We continually navigate to Ban Veu Thong village then
take a ferry to explore the splendid site of Khong
Phapeng, which boasts Southeast Asia’s largest
waterfalls. We follow it with a short cruise to Xieng
Di. At this small fishing village, we embark on a long
