Detail Itinerary
The awesome 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo has left
an indelible mark on the surrounding countryside.
The enormous explosion created surreal landscapes -
vast lahar fields and craggy peaks - that are a
favorite destination for local mountaineering
groups.
The tour begins at Clark Air Base,
another former US military installation. A two-hour trek to the foot
of Mt. Pinatubo gives guests a glimpse of the lahar fields that
cover most of the surrounding area. A lake now fills the volcano's
crater and may be reached by a two-day hike.
The trek back to Clark ends at a
local restaurant where lunch will be served.
