for ceremonial purposes.

Wat Pho is most famous for the
golden reclining Buddha that measures 46 meters
and has feet inlaid with mother-of pearl. This
is the main attraction that draws visitors to
the temple. In more modern times, Wat Pho has
gained international recognition as a meditation
centre and for the traditional Thai massage that
is both practiced and taught here. Wat Tri Mitr,
Have you ever seen five and a half tons of gold,
near the Bangkok Railway Station at Hua Lamphong
is home to the famous Golden Buddha which is 3
meters high. The Golden Buddha is believed to be

Klong tour (Canal Tours),
Cruising along the klongs as the canals are
called in Thai, takes you on a journey of
contrast back to earlier eras and up to modern
Bangkok. The most popular klong trips start on
the Bangkok side of the Chao Phraya River and
cross over to the Thonburi side to venture up
Bangkok Noi and Bangkok Yai canals. These
journeys take you to fascinating places such as
The Royal Barge Museum and the colonial-style
Thonburi Railway Station. On the way you will
see a different side of life as you pass the
homes of the klong-dwellers. Each home seems to
have its own boat, be it a small canoe or a hang

truck engines and a propeller on a long shaft
that acts as both propulsion and steerage.

Day 3 - Bangkok - Damnoen
Saduak Floating Market - Kanchanaburi (B,L,D)
Duration: 07.00am - 16.00pm
The best known floating market
is at Damnoen Saduak, some 109 kilometers
southwest of Bangkok or approximately two hours
drive. It is a ‘must-see’ destination and
probably visited by nine out of every ten
tourists who visit Thailand. Every morning,
hundreds of boats crowd the market area. Most of
them are paddled by women with picturesque straw
hats. Visitors can find everything from
vegetables and fruits to freshly-cooked noodle
and souvenirs at this lively market.
Wat Tham Suea is located at
tambon Muang Chum, 4 kilometres beyond
Wachiralongkorn Dam. The temple is built in a
mixed, splendid Thai-Chinese style and enshrines
a huge Buddha image.
The Bridge on the River Kwai,
Thanks to several films and books, the Bridge on
the River Kwai has become notoriously famous and
attracted both Thais and foreigners to the site.
If an ordinary black iron bridge can tell a
story, you can be sure it's a dramatic one. The
bridge spans across Maenam Kwai Yai which is a
branch of Maenam Mae Klong. During the Japanese
occupation of Thailand in World War II, the
Japanese Imperial Army brought the iron bridge
from Java. It was then resembled by Allied
Prisoners of War (POW) under Japanese
supervision. The bridge was part of a strategic
railway route to Myanmar in which the Japanese
aimed to secure supplies with which to conquer
other western Asian countries. It was 415
kilometers long (about 303 kilometers in
Thailand and about 112 kilometers in Burma) and
passed through the Three Pagoda Pass in
Sangkhlaburi District, the northern most part of
Kanchanaburi province.

The JEATH War Museum is
derived from countries which engaged in the WWII
death railway construction from 1942 to 1945,
which included Japan, England, America,
Australia, Thailand and Holland. Located in the
area of Wat Chai Chumphon, the museum is a
reconstruction of the POWs thatched detention
hut with cramped, elevated bamboo bunks. On the
wall of the huts, photographs and illustrations
of the POWs living conditions are on display.
POWs who survived from the camp have donated
items to enhance the museums atmosphere and
authenticity. After finish lunch, you will go to
visit the war cemetery where are 6,982 prisoners
of war lay buried after they perished while
constructing the death railway.

the center of all the poppy cultivation in
Thailand.

Triangle Park houses several sections to be

contemplated. For example, the 5,600
square-meter Hall of Opium presents An
Invitation to the Mysterious World of Opium from
Darkness to Light, the history of opium as of
5,000 years ago from its natural properties to
its uses. It traces opium's global journey
through trade routes in the age of imperialism,
culminating in the Opium Wars-an event that
disgraced both winners and losers that led to
the fall of the Manchu Dynasty. It also features
Siamese wisdom in confronting the West and the
eventual control of opium problems.
