Majestic northwest cycling tour offer for travelers one of the most outstanding nature beauty and deeply colourful cultures of 26 ethnic minorities in North West Vietnam.
Hanoi – Mai Chau – Moc Chau – Son La – Dien Bien – Tuan Giao – Than Uyen – Sapa – Hanoi
The riders also have great opportunity in exploring the legendary road lead to Dien Bien Phu Victory in 1954. and conquer three spectacular Pass in Vietnam – Pha Din – Loong Pass – O Quy Ho pass. Our cycling trip start in Hanoi city via Hoa Binh the gateway of Northwest and start riding to Mai Chau – the lush rice paddy valley, nestled with Thai and Muong people. Our trip continue to Moc Chau on single track and off road.
Moc Chau is one of the most pristine beautiful plateaus in the North mountainous region that brings the amazing attraction for all classes of people even for hard-to-pleasure tourists. The road between Moc Chau and Son La is mazing with picturesque scenic beauty and diversified ethnic cultures.
Dien Bien Phu – the heroic City of Vietnam has been preserving all most relics since 1954, visiting Dien Bien to help us deeply understand the “Indo China War”
Sapa is Located at 1500 meters (4921 feet) above sea level in Vietnam’s remote northwest mountains, Sapa is famous for both its fine, rugged scenery and also its rich cultural diversity. Sapa is an incredibly picturesque town that lies in the Hoang Lien Son mountain range near the Chinese border in northwestern Vietnam, known as “the Tonkinese Alps”. Sapa and its surrounding region is host to many hill tribes, as well as rice terraces, lush vegetation, and Fansipan, the highest peak in Vietnam.

Day1: Hanoi – Mai Chau ( L,D) cycle distance +- 70 km
Day 2: Mai Chau loop ( B,L,D) cycle distance +- 50 km
Day 3: Mai Chau – Moc Chau ( B,L,D) cycle distance +- 80km
Day 4: Moc Chau – Son La ( B,L,D) cycle distance +- 80km

Itineraries in details
Day 1 : Hanoi – Hoa Binh – Lac Village ( L, D)
Leave at 7h30. we drive southwest to Luong Son. The gateway to the outstsanding mountainous area of northern Vietnam, upon arrival Luong son, we start riding through on undulating tarmac road with stunning view of mountain, valleys, sugarcane farms and rice paddies. We would have a stop enroute for refresment, and lunch at local restaurant.
After lunch, we take short transfer to bottomhill of Thung Khe pass, restarting to ride 34 km along the bank of Da River, you enjoy spectacular scenery dotted with Muong and Thai people villages under shaded trees, you are very impressive with little school boys and girls or buffalor, cowboy say Hello with you on the way back to their home. We take shortbreak for Kodak momment or refreshment before descent to Mai Chau village
Arriving Mai Chau at late afternoon, we cycle to Lac village for Homestay tonight
Taking shower, having dinner with traditional Thai food and enjoy Thai dance music performance

Day 2: Mai Chau loop Phomcoon – Buoc village – Phom Coon (B,L,D)
Waking up you early in the morning by birds and chicken sounding, you will be treated by Thai traditional cake for breakfast with hot coffee and tea
After light breakfast, we cycle through different villages on a mix of good single track paths link from villages to anothers, the view are stunning as the ride passes and cross lush rice paddies./ Unique to this area are fan palms, grown specifically to use for roofing.We pass hot springs, cycle cross suspension bridges and follow the contours around beautiful terraced rice fields
We stop for lunch en route with picnic lunch box.
After lunch, we cycle back road , single tracks , buffalo trails through rice terraced fields
Stay at local homestay of Phom Coon Village
The rest of afternoon is at leisure to wander by foot or explore the village trails further by bike.Dinner and over night at Thai Homestay
Day 3: Mai Chau – Moc Chau (B,L,D)
After breakfast, we say goode bye Mai Chau, our drive bring us out of the town, upon arrivals of Bai Sang, we start warming up by riding off road along Da river, today is hard day with long climb and potholes road , whereas we are rewarded by spectacular scenic beauty and friend people live in both side, surpringly, we ride on the formal National way No6 uesd to supplying logistic and ammunition for DienBien Phu Campaign. Stop enroute for refeshment and picnic lunch, after lunch, we keep riding to Moc Chau plateau
Moc Chau is one of the most pristine beautiful plateaus in the North mountainous region that brings the amazing attraction for all classes of people even for hard-to-pleasure tourists.
Upon arrival Hotel, we do check in and relax by your own.

Day 4: Moc Chau – Son La ( B,L,D)
Following to breakfast, we start riding from Hotel on asphalt road, we savor the magnificent mountain panoramas of the NorthWest. Son La province is home of 26 ethnic minorities, and While Thai & Black Thai is majority. Cycling is one of the perfect way to contact and explore their culture, daily life on your way.
Tonight we will stay in Hanoi Hotel 3 stars
Day 5: Son La – Dien Bien ( B,L,D)
Today is really great day and challenging for all most riders. We will do conquer and challenge one of the longest pass “Pa Din Pass” link between Son La and Tuan Giao with 32 km long ( 18km ascent, 14 km desent)
Start from Hotel, we ride ascent 7 km out of Son La Town, then descent new asphalt road, through stunning, rural scenery where limestone mountains rise out of the valley floor. We reach to Summit stop for refreshment, and photo moment . Checking the gear, brake before rolling down 12 km to Tuan Giao Town. Stop for lunch in Local restaurant in Tuan Giao.
After lunch we continue to ride on undulating road to Dien Dien or Transfer to hotel in Dien Bien for relax is your option.
Upon arrival in Dien Bien, do check in and compliment beer for yourself.
Stay overnight at Him Lam Eco – Tour Resort
Day 6 : Dien Bien – via Tuan Giao – Than Uyen ( B,L,D)
After breakfast, our diver take us back Tuan Giao Town where we start riding to Thanh Uyen Town. The road between Tuan Giao and Than Uyen is 97 km long with two long pass, one in morning, another in afternoon, it is blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramar, magnificient rice terraces and breaktaking scenery, and we are warmly welcome by the Thai and Dao ethnic tribes
Hightlight today is riding along Da river with big dam water reserver for Electric Power. We stop for lunch enroute in Muong Ang. After lunch, we keep riding on undulating road on the bank of Nam Mit River lead to Ban Trat Electric Power.arriving in Than Uyen in Late afternoon, taking shower before having big dinner in Local restaurant
Stay overnight in Phuong nhung Hotel 2 stars standard
Day 7: Than Uyen – Sa Pa ( B,L,D)
Today is another great day and most enjoyable day, we ride and conquere the longest pass of the NorthWest Vietnam with 38 km long. This pass call “ O QUY HO” link between Lai Chau and Lao Cai province its summit 2120m compare sea level.
We start riding from Hotel through stunning scenic beauty, picturesque limestone moutain of Panxiphang,
Is home of H’mong, Dao, Day,Tay,Nung.. Dao Pho ethnic tribe living together for hundred years.we aslo admire the verdant rice terraces in bothsite.
We reach to Binh Lu T junction stop for lunch. After lunch, we start conquering the Pass, arriving Tram Ton Summit, regoup for photo moment, before riding down to Sapa town.
Upon arrival in Sapa, we take relax by doing herbal medicinal massage
Having dinner at Grill Nature Bar restaurant, stay over night in Sunny Hotel 3 stars
Day 8: Sa Pa Valley ( B,L,D)
Today is leisure day with cycling down to villages Lao Chai , Tavan, Supan, Ban Ho villages, you have time to show off your skilled photograph with the lush rice terraces and loving local kids following you on the way. Arriving Ban Ho, stop for lunch at Local homestay. After lunch , we ride back road on single track path lead up to Sapa town.the rest day is free for you. You wander and explore Sapa Tourist Market, Talk with local people.
Dinner at Red Dao Restautant and Stay overnight in Sunny Hotel 3 stars
Day 9 : Sapa – Ban Khoang – Taphin – sapa (B,L,D)
the second day exploring Sapa town offer for you the most interesting features on your holiday.we start from hotel, riding out of the town , rolling down through Black H’mong, Dao villages and the vast stepped rice paddies, reaching to Schools, Clinic of Pa Cha Village. We do visit and deliver some gifts for school kids such as pens, books or balls…or just attending to sing with kindergarten. We arrive in Ta Phi Village for lunch. Ta Phin Village is home of Red Dao and H” Mong tribes living together for long time. They are very skillfull in Batix technic and smart to use herbal medicines.
After lunch we stroll up the villages, before riding back road to Sapa.
Dinner and stay over night in Sunny hotel. 3 stars
Day 10: Sapa – Lao Cai . ( B,L,D)
Today is free day for you, you can stroll to market buy some souvernir for yourself and your family, do laundry before coming back to Hanoi.
We check out around 12 a.m. lunch at Local restaurant, take our bus back to Lao Cai city. We catch the night train back to Hanoi.
Arriving in Hanoi early morning. Having breakfast and transfer to Noi Bai Air Port for your next departure.
Optional. If we arrive in Sapa on Sunday, I strongly recommend to visit Bac Ha market/ we take our bus/ van to Bac Ha,visiting colourful market, afternoon come back to Lao Cai Station for night train to Hanoi.
Day 11: Hanoi – Departure
