Can Tho prepares for liberation holiday
The Mekong River Delta city of Can Tho
is preparing for a festival complete
with flower garlands and coloured
lanterns at Ninh Kieu Wharf to celebrate
Liberation Day on April 30.
The festival will include a motorcycle
procession, with a fleet of 200 to 300
motorcycles decorated with lights to
ride along Can Tho’s main streets, and a
kite flying contest at Phu Sa Tourist
Park. The opening ceremony will feature
art and music and will take place at the
corner of Vo Van Tan and Hai Ba Trung
streets.
Golden
trains ply HCM City-Quy Nhon route
High-quality rail vehicles called Golden
Trains were put into operation on Monday
on the HCM City-Quy Nhon Town route,
serving as the country’s most luxurious
trains and run on alternate days.
Tickets cost VND495,000 (US$31) for a
bed booking, and VND395,000 ($22.4) for
a seat. The trains depart from HCM City
at 9:50pm and arrive in Quy Nhon at
10:35am the next day, with stops at Bien
Hoa, Muong Man, Thap Cham, Nha Trang,
Tuy Hoa and Dieu Tri stations. The
return trip departs from Quy Nhon at
5:07pm, arriving in HCM City at 6:35am
the following day.
Binh
Thuan’s Mui Ne attracts Russian tourists
Mui Ne in Binh Thuan Province has become
a popular tourist destination to Russian
visitors to Viet Nam.
According to the general director of the
Russian travel company Lanta-An, Klokov
Igor Nikolaevich, the number of Russian
visitors to Binh Thuan has increased
since the opening of Lanta-An’s office
in Mui Ne.
He said the company brings some 300
Russian visitors to Phan Thiet-Mui Ne
per month, and the number could rise to
1,000 per month later this year when the
weather becomes chilly in Russia.
The Hanoi-based Nhat Minh Tourism
Company also brings Russian tourists to
Mui Ne. Russians accounted for 11.3% of
the 20,000 foreign visitors to Mui Ne in
the first three months this year,
according to figures from Binh Thuan
Tourism Department.
