Detail Itinerary
This tour is designed to take you to the
countryside in North Vietnam, where you will
enjoy pastoral life, pure air, fresh and clean
foods. Besides, you will take part in farm works
together with local inhabitants; gardening;
bonsai trimming; finding out about popular
medicinal plants, but very useful for our daily
life. In particular, the well-known and
experienced oriental doctor will examine and
consult you free of charge about the use of
medicinal plants in the best treatment of common
diseases
Day 1: Hanoi
- 45km by Transfer
Arrival in Hanoi , transfer to hotel. Walking
orientation of the old city and Hoan Kiem Lake .
This evening we introduce you to Vietnamese
cuisine at a local restaurant.
Day 2:Hanoi City
Hanoi City tour - After breakfast a half-day city
tour to visit some of Hanoi 's historical
sights. The beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake , the final
resting place of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum set deep
in the bowels of a monumental edifice that has
become a popular local and foreign pilgrimage.
Ho Chi Minh's house, a stilt house built in the
style of the ethnic minorities, where Ho Chi
Ming lived simply between 1958 and 1969. One
Pillar Pagoda a small but significant pagoda
with a Buddhist representation of the world and
the Temple of Literature originally built in
1070. Afternoon free to shop and explore Hanoi
's old quarter at leisure. (B)

Day 3:Hanoi - Perfume Pagoda -70km
Biking
Drive to the outskirts of Hanoi before beginning
your cycle ride to the Perfume Pagoda, it
includes a 3 hour boat trip along the scenic
waterways. The Pagoda itself is at the top of a
steep walking path. It is built into limestone
cliffs of the Huong Tich Mountains ( Mountain of
Fragrance ) it is a famous shrine for Buddhist
pilgrims. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Perfume Pagoda to Ninh Binh - 60km
Biking
Again we access small roads and water canal
trails to cycle to Ninh Binh. Often described as
the Halong Bay on the land, Ninh Binh is a
peaceful settlement with long waterways rich
with paddy fields stretching through the
mountains. It is superb landscape for cycling
exploring by boat. Includes a 2 hour boat trip
through the rice field canals. (B, L, D)
Day 5:Ninh Binh to Phat Diem

Phat Diem is the site of a cathedral, remarkable
for it's vast dimensions and unique
Sino-Vietnamese architecture. The vaulted
ceiling is supported by massive timber beams and
the main alter a single block of granite. It has
a huge bell tower and nearby is a 19 century
covered bridge. (B, L, D)

Biking
After early breakfast we transfer to Dong Dao
plantation, where we start cycling. Today we
cycle about 30 km on the panoramic road to Cuc
Phuong National Park. We will go through the
pineapple plantations, valleys, villages, and
meet friendly locals along the way. We arrive
at Cuc Phuong National Park at around noon, and
enjoy our packed lunch here. Afterwards, we
cycle about 2 hours through the National Park
and make a couple of stops to visit the Cave of
Ancient Men, and take a walk before heading back
to Ninh Binh. (Breakfast & Lunch included)
Day 6:Ninh Binh – Kenh Ga - Nam Dinh .-60km Biking
After breakfast we continue our trip towards Tam
Coc which is situated in a wonderful and
spectacular setting of limestone rocks rising
between the magnificent green rice paddies. This
place is also called the ‘Ha Long bay of the
Land’. By boat we sail through stunning tunnel
grottos where you can enjoy the serenity of the
environment. In the afternoon, we bring a
visit to Kenh Ga floating village by boat. The
sightseeing is fantastic – we witness an
isolated village in a vast flooded field
surrounded by water canals after on the road,
you will visit Tuc Mac temple, reserved for the
co- worship of various Kings of Tran, a grand
and powerful dynasty in the Vietnam history.
This dynasty had forced the Yuan to yield for
three times in 1258, 1285 and 1288,
respectfully. Then, visit Pho Ming pagoda,
where various Kings of Tran dynasty had ever sit
in religious meditation at their old age where
we spend the night in our hotel.

Day 7:Nam Dinh - Hai Phong -50km Biking
An early morning start to pedal through the rich
farming land of the Red River Delta to Hai Hau
district. Visit Co Le pagoda, characterized by
the West’s original architecture, reserved for
the worship of a well-known medicine monk.
Arrival to Hai Phong commune, the wagon will
take you to the local inhabitant’s house. Dinner
and overnight in Hai Phong.

Day8:Hai Phong – Hai Hoa - 45km Biking
Morning: Finding out about various kinds of
popular medicinal plants and their effects on
the daily life. In particular, you will be
examined free of charge by the well-known and
experienced oriental doctors as well as
consulted about the use of medicinal plants in
the treatment of common diseases.
Afternoon: Riding a bicycle to Hai Hoa district
(15km far from Hai Phong). Photographing and
enjoying beautiful views on the road. On
arrived, visit the salt-marsh,
participation to harvest the salt with the
inhabitant.Bathing in the sea and sporting
together with local inhabitants. Dinner and
overnight in Hai Phong.

Day 9:Hai Phong - Ha Long -70km Biking
We continue our journey to Ha Long Bay (70 km).
Views of sailing junks navigating past over
3,000 limestone islands and out crops jutting
out of the clear and emerald water of the bay
are nothing short of spectacular. Overnight in
Ha Long. (B, L, D)
Day 10:Ha Long - Cat Ba - Boat Cruise
Ha Long Bay boasts one of Vietnam 's most
impressive scenic sights. After a short transfer
from the town, we embark on a cruise out to
explore the world natural heritage dotted with
some thousands of rock formations. Along the way
we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a
secluded cove and a seafood lunch. Overnight in
Cat Ba. (B, L, D)
Day 11:Cat Ba Island - 45km Biking
The primeval forest and the tranquil town make
Cat Ba Island one of Vietnam 's delightful
places. We spend a halfday cycling in Cat Ba,
visting the national park, the central market
and the fishing port. The reminder of today is
free to relax on a beach. Overnight in Cat Ba.

Day12:Cat Ba - Hai Phong – Ha Noi - 65km
Biking
In the early morning we take public ferry
back to Hai Phong. Upon landing we continue our
bike trip back to Ha Noi (100 km),stopping at
Bat Trang Pottery village. Overnight in Ha Noi.

Day 13:Ha Noi - Departure - 45km by Transfer
There is a free time to further explore Ha Noi.
The tour ends after your transfer to Noi Bai
Airport for departure. (B)
Note
This itinerary allows for seven field days on
the cycling section. You will be able to decide
for yourself at any time during each of these
days how far you want to cycle. Average daily
cycling distances are approximately 60 -100 km.
These distances may vary according to weather,
road conditions and group fitness and
preferences. This is a sightseeing cycle tour,
not a marathon or time trial.
