dear dzung
we just returned from a 3 weeks trip through china and india and it is high time
to say THANK you for an excellent organisation of the last two tours in march
and april.
during my trip in china I got the message that our next group in jan 2010 is
also definitly operating, more than 15 people have already booked. my tour
leader Mr. sehgal also told me about the very good last guide for my two groups,
so that i would like to request you to confirm mr. Chu forthe upcoming group.
In the next Mr Sehgal will NOT come along, just a tour leader, with no
experience in Vietnam and cambodia, so I need TOP CLASS guides in both countries
to take care of them. Preferably Mr. Chu in Vietnam and Mr. dara in Cambodia
Can u pls confirm the same. I will send you a first rooming list in the next few
days, as soon as I have set up my desk
with best regards

Re: Halong bay kayaking trip with Green Trail Tours
Dear Nham and the Green Trail Tours staff,
Thank you for accommodating our late schedule this weekend. Charles, Alice and I
enjoyed our tour and the kayaking. However, shortly after returning to Hanoi,
both Charles and Alice became sick with food poisoning and spent the night
throwing up. We think the illness is from the food we ate on the second boat. It
may have been from the meat or from sanitation problems. Anyways, they are
feeling a bit better now, but we wanted to make you aware of the issue so that
you can take steps to fix the problem for future customers.
Best Regards,
Grace

TOUR (4 Days)(NAPA CA); Hi Mr. Dung:
Here are the answers to your
questions on the survey I forgot
to fill out when leaving for
home.
Tour Programs:
Northern Bike Tour (4 Day) &
Glimpse of Vietnam
Did you receive enough advance
information: Yes
How did you rate your tour
programmed? Rather interesting
During your tour did you prefer
the meals served in hotels or
outside restaurants? Outside
Restaurants. However, some of
the meals were at the usual
tourist type restaurants. We
would have preferred less
touristy restaurants some or
most of the time.
Was anything missing from
the program? No
Transportation:
Safety: Very Good
Cleanliness: Very Good
Driver: Very Good
Hotel:
Flower Hotel: Very Good
Hang Village Home: VERY
VERY GOOD
Hin Village: OK; Not Great
Long Hotel: Very Good
Duy Tan Hotel Hue: Very
Good
Elios: Good
Kim Thoa, Mekong Delta:
Excellent
Guide:
Don't remember the names.
The Guides in Ha Noi and
Saigon were wonderful and
spoke very understandable
English. The guide in Hue
spoke terrible English.
Friendly and seemed to know
his tour material well but
his English was very very
bad. He needs to work on
his English. The fellow that
picked us up at the Saigon
airport when we arrived in
Saigon spoke perfect
English. He should be a
guide!
Highlights of the Trip: The
bike ride through the
national park although it
was a bit harder than I
imagined on the dirt paths.
Getting across the street in
Saigon! The Rice Noodle
Factory in Mekong Delta.
Negative Aspects of Trip?
None although on those bike
rides you need to let
tourists know there will be
some muddy spots. You said
you would get me a 61-62cm
bike because I am 6 foot 4
inches tall; but it was a
bit smaller than that and so
the ride uphill was more
difficult that I expected.
Next time I'm checking the
size of the bike before we
leave on the tour!!
Would you recommend your
friends to visit Vietnam?
Yes!! I'll use your
services again when we tour
Laos and Combodia in the
coming years.
Further comments: Green
Trail Tours needs to provide
the Flower Hotel with a much
better map of the old
quarter. We got lost a
couple of times walking
around and had to take a
taxi!! Or better yet Green
Trail Tours should provide
the map when the tourist
shows up and pays the money
for the tours. I would have
paid 35,000 Dong for a
decent map and been happy
about it!
Great trip!
Testimonial (feel free to
include my e-mail address):
The Green Trail
tour people (Bike Tour and
Glimpse of Vietnam) did a
wonderful job. Pickups and
dropoffs at the airports
were invariably on time.
The English spoken by the
guides with one exception in
Hue for 2 days was very
understandable (we were in
Vietnam on tours with Green
Trail Tours for 17 days).
The detail of information
regarding historical places
and events was wonderful.
Highly recommended.

Re: group 20pax cycling
from vietnam to Laos start on
15NOV
Hello Mr Dung,
We are now back
in UK and already thinking about the 2009 tour. I have decided to continue with
my current agent in Laos for that part of the tour but would like your company
to support the Vietnam sector as per your quotation dated 1.10.08.
We already have provisional
bookings for the 2009 tour and
our room requirement will be 3
double and 7 twin rooms.
for the same support and meal
plan as this year. If possible,
we would like the same team, Ms
Nham, Mr. Nam, Mr. Binh and Mr.
Thanh. The dates are: arrive
Hanoi Sunday 22 November –
depart Tay Trang Thursday 3
December.
Regarding the hotel in Hanoi.
We liked the Hong Ngoc 5 but
would there be more room for
assembling bikes at the Thien
Thai? At Tu Le, it will be
necessary to book all of the
rooms at both guesthouses as
most rooms have double beds and
there are only two twin bedded
rooms and so we would like to
provide single room occupancy.
Everyone enjoyed the tour and
the support given by your team
was excellent. Please convey
our thanks to Mr Thanh, Ms Nham,
Mr Nam and Mr Binh for making
the 2008 tour a very nice
experience.
Thank you once again for your
services and we look forward to
hearing from you.
Regards
John

Re: SOUTHERN VIETNAM EXPERIENCE
from 15DEC to 19DEC
Hi Van Dung,
Thank you for your email. Yes,
we have arrived safely back
home. Of course we will remember
this trip, the thousands of
motorbikes, crossing of the
roads and all. Although there
was a little hick-up at the
beginning of the trip, the rest
went on smoothly as planned. My
daughter had to fly in to HCMC
alone one day after us, as we
overlooked her passport expiry
date not within the six months.
It was only discovered in the
early morning before our flight
to HCMC at Changi International
Airport. We were lucky as
Jetstar allowed the switch of
the date for her and change of
new passport was done at the
Singapore Immigration on the
very day itself. It was also an
experience for her to settle all
by herself without having
parents around and flew alone
the next morning. (She is 18 by
the way). We were also worried
when we did not see your tour
rep upon arriving at the HCM
airport. For once we thought we
got cheated...
However, your tour guide, Mr Ky,
was excellent. He was very
helpful in many ways. Patient
man, humble, knowledgable and
friendly. Before the Chu Chi
Tunnel tour, we diverted him to
the airport first to fetch my
girl. The explanation given by
Mr Ky on all the tours was very
detailed. Lunch at Tandoor
restaurant was great.
The Mekong River tour was an
unforgettable experience too. We
were thrilled to be treated as
"Prince & Princess" on the Cai
Be Princess while cruising the
river. The lunch was exclusive
and unique, especially the
Elephant's ear fish. Although I
have tried Vietnamese spring
rolls and beef noodles in
Singapore, the Elephant's ear
fish was a new experience for
all of us!
Shopping is always never enough.
We went the Ben Tahn market 4
times but still could not finish
buying souveniers for friends &
families back home. We certainly
had no regrets engaging your
tour company for our land tour
and will certainly recommend
friends to you when they plan to
visit Vietnam. We, also hope to
visit other parts of Vietnam
some other days and will think
of you and Green Trail Tours.
Appreciate your assistance.
Thanks & regards,

Re: letter to Ms Nham and other
items
Dear Ms Nham:
Sorry for the delay in getting back to
you. It has been rather busy here
catching up on many things. Gene and I
agree that the Vietnam trip we just
completed with Green Trail Tours was one
of the most rewarding and interesting
experiences we have ever had. A great
trip, one that we will talk about for
years to come. We will strongly
encourage anyone who is thinking of
travelling in Vietnam to seriously
consider Green Trail Tours. Please allow
me a few comments about the experience.
1. Gene and I are good eaters, known to
eat just about everything put in front
of us. But, the amount of food served
was more than we could handle.
Especially at lunch when we were served
seven or more separate dishes of
delicious food only to be treated again
with as much or more at dinner. The
unfortunate result of this generosity
was the waste of a considerable amount
of wonderful food. Our suggestion is
that lunch be a lighter meal with, say,
three separate dishes and save the
bigger meal for dinner time.
2. The guides were great, nice people
who did all they could to provide for
anything we wanted or needed. The only
problem was with the guide in Sapa who
was a very nice person and fun to be
with as we enjoyed some exciting
adventures, but who was difficult to
understand and who clearly did not
always understand us. Proficiency in
English seems essential for a guide who
is dealing with Americans not
knowledgeable in Vietnamese.
3. Just a note on the evaluations: We
think it would be better if the
evaluations were mailed to your office
rather than handed to the guide who is
being evaluated. Perhaps your office
could provide a stamped envelope.4. We
think there should be guidelines for
tipping. Every country treats tipping
differently and knowing what is expected
in Vietnam would be helpful.
Thanks again for everything.
Regards,
Ralph

Re: Margaret & Alan Abbott in
Vietnam Bird watching trip
Hi Nham
We had a great time in both Vietnam
and Cambodia for which we would like
to thank you very much. Your
arrangements were first class.
The main
guides you arranged were excellent and
could not be faulted in any way, they
were very helpful and considerate.
We would particularly like to thank
David for the completely professional
way he handled the itinerary changes we
had to make in Da Lat (you must let me
know if our changes incurred any
additional expense).
The
local guides in Cat Tien and Cuc
Phuong were extremely knowledgeable
and did a fantastic job showing us
their areas. The guide in Da
Lat, despite being a very pleasant
person, lacked experience and
knowledge of wild life and I would
suggest you do not use him again in
this capacity - however it did not
reduce our enjoyment.
Once again thank you and your staff
for a very memorable and happy time
Margaret & Alan

Re: Special Trip along Vietnam
Hi Nham
Thank you for
your email. Yes, Fran and I both agree
that the whole holiday was even better than
we'd expected and will certainly recommend
Green Trail Tours to any friends who intend
going to Vietnam. All the tour guides
were excellent and made us feel very well
looked after. Luckily we only had one
day's rain and that was in Sapa, but we
still went out walking with our guide 'Gom'.
Sapa was just a perfect end to a wonderful
holiday. Even the train trip was great. I
certainly hope to come back again. Now,
there is something you can help me with:
I teach English
here in China and I was most impressed with
Gom's grasp of English, considering she
hasn't had any formal training. She
is keen to improve her knowledge of English,
especially grammar, but access to books is a
problem for her. I would love to send
her some books from here, but they are
written for the Chinese. Do you know
of any good textbooks that are popular in
Vietnam for learning English? I would
be happy to pay for the cost of purchase
and postage to her if you can help. If
you don't know of any books, perhaps 'David'
our guide in HoChiMinh could help as he has
done a lot of language study.
Only other
thing - don't suppose the Hoi An Riverside
Resort & Spa have found my shoes? That
was quite amazing - I wore them while I was
there - so know I had them out, but couldn't
find them when I went to pack. They had to
be in the room or else taken from it.
Anyway, if they turn up I know you will
contact me.
Once again many
thanks. No rush on the books for Gom,
but I would like to help her, she is such
a capable and sensible girl.
Regards
Anne Joachim
