Detail Itinerary
This trips puts you right in the heart of upland
Vietnam in a remote National Park that's set in
limestone karats mountains. Ba Be means "Three
Lakes". In fact, there is only one large lake
with three different sections.
Early morning hikes and paddles from the Park
headquarters offer rewarding wildlife sightings
and sunrise vistas, and there's a traditional
lakefront village whose residents speak there
own dialect. All the paddling is easy and this
trip puts you right inside Vietnam's hill tribe
culture.
Please note:
Picturesque and magical Ba Be is under intense
poaching pressure for Chinese traditional
medicines - your visit helps us develop a
Wildlife Awareness and Rehab Program in
co-operation with the National Park. The drive
through Hill Tribe country is very interesting,
especially following a visit to the Hill Tribe
Museum.

Day 1 : Hanoi - Ba Be Lake ( L, D)
Depart your hotel in Hanoi. Visit the ethnology
museum to see the rich cultures of the various
tribes that live in Vietnam. Drive off road to
Ba Be with a stop at a Hill Tribe market. Arrive
Ba Be Park headquarters and check-into Ba Be
guest house.
Day 2 : Optional sunrise nature walk,
breakfast.( B, L, D)
Depart for river paddle. Begin paddle down
the Nang River through marshlands and onto the
lake. The journey is easy and calm going. Picnic
lunch on the stream bank. On the lake enjoy the
tranquility of the unspoilt tropical jungle,
clear water and limestone mountains. Return to
the Village for dinner and over night stay.
Day 3 : Optional Sunrise lake paddle.( B, L, D)
Explore the lake and the national park with its
limestone grottoes, wildlife and ethnic minority
villages. Return to the guest house for
dinner and over night stay.
Day 4 : Check-out and departure for Hanoi. ( B,
L)
More canoeing then breakfast served by the
lakes, swimming. Leave for Hanoi by 10.00 am,
lunch on the way at noon. Arrive in hotel by
5.30 p.m.
