Day 1: Hanoi - Nghia Lo
Day 2: Nghia Lo - Than Uyen

Day 4: Sapa (or Muong Hum) - Bac Ha
Day 5: Bac Ha - Vu Linh
Day 6: Vu Linh - Hanoi
Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Nghia Lo. ~180 km
Easy drive & ride on sealed road. Drive through
rural areas with beautiful rice field along the
road.
Day 2: Nghia Lo - Than Uyen. ~140 km
The road is wild and bumpy. Between Sapa and
Hanoi, we will find an important mountainous
massif, almost as high as the Fansipan: the Mu
Cang Chai. From the top, we have one of the most
beautiful views of North Vietnam.
Day 3: Than Uyen - Sapa (or Muong Hum). ~120
km
Walk/ stroll in the morning. The area of Than
Uyen is mainly populated by Flower H'mong and
Dao people. Then direction Sapa. Easy track for
100 km and asphalted mountainous road for the
last 40 km. We can stay in Sapa or if we feel
going further and the weather is nice, we can
keep riding until Muong Hum where we stay with
Giay people. 40 km of dirt road. Beautiful
riding.
Day 4: Sapa (or Muong Hum) - Bac Ha. ~100 km
We move to Lao Cai Province, going first down
and then up to the mountains area of Bac Ha.
Before to reach the plateau of Bac Ha we turn
off and ride along the Chay River until the
village of Coc Ly. We meet different hill tribes
who inhabit this area: H'mong, Phu La, Dao and
Tay.Night in Bac Ha.
Day 5: Bac Ha - Vu Linh. ~170 km
We ride South, direction Thac Ba lake. Until Luc
Yen, the road is easy and asphalted. Next,
secondary road along the Thac Ba lake, Dao and
Tay territory until the traditional village of
Vu Linh where we stay with our friends in a
stilt house.
Day 6: Vu Linh - Hanoi. ~180 km
Come back to Hanoi. Road and easy track.

Note
This itinerary allows for 06 field days on the
cycling section. You will be able to decide for
yourself at any time during each of these days
how far you want to cycle. Average daily cycling
distances are approximately 60 -100 km. These
distances may vary according to weather, road
conditions and group fitness and preferences.
This is a sightseeing cycle tour, not a marathon
or time trial.
