Detail Itinerary
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh
Our guide will pick us up at the airport in Ho
Chi Minh City. This day is free to explore
Vietnam's largest and most exciting city with
many beautiful pagodas and busy markets until we
meet at the Temple Club Restaurant for dinner.
Accommodation in a 2* Hotel (-/-/D)
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh (40 km)
We ride to the Cu Chi tunnels and return to
Ho Chi Minh City by bus in time to visit the
museum of war crimes. As dinner is not included
today we can try authentic Vietnamese food in
small local places where the Vietnamese eat: Two
blocks behind the National Theater (sometimes
called the ‘‘Opera House’’) is a street called
Thi Sach. Although only two blocks long, it is
lined with little restaurants which are very
popular with locals and often packed at night.
At most of these restaurants, seating is at
folding tables on the sidewalk. All the
restaurants are good and in expensive. Many
specialize in seafood, though you will probably
find unusual fares on the menu like sparrows,
wild deer and steamed silk worms-a culinary
adventure! Accommodation in a 2* Hotel (B/L/-)
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh - Dalat (50 km)
We are transferred to Dalat, in the central
highlands in the early morning. In the afternoon
we ride along quiet back roads tracing the
Langbian Plateau, passing alongside the Xuan
Huong Lake in the shadow of the Langbian
Mountain. Accommodation in a 3* Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 4: Dalat – Nha Trang (109 km)
Today we ride along quiet roads out of Dalat
and make short climbs followed by some descents
until we reach the Cham towers of Po Klong
Garai. Those arriving early may have time to
explore the Hindu temples. Later on we drive to
Nha Trang, a picturesque resort town, to enjoy
the evening. Accommodation in a 2* Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 5: Nha Trang
Take a boat trip to the coral islands for
swimming and snorkelling or relax and enjoy the
beach or go scuba diving. Nha Trang is a very
relaxed city with nice beaches and restaurants.
A perfect place to relax. Accommodation in a 2*
Hotel (B/-/-)
Day 6: Nha Trang – Dinh Lanh (85 km)
Our ride tody takes us to the fishing
village of Dinh Lanh along Highway One. We spend
the rest of the day swimming and relaxing or
riding the last 45 km into town. Accommodation
in a 2* Hotel (or below) (B/L/D)
Day 7: Dinh Lanh – Quang Ngai (62 km)
To avoid the main highway we are transferred
out of town and to a remote road running along
the railway passing a mix of tribal Vietnamese
villages. We then loop back to the main highway
and are transferred to Quang Ngai, a beautiful,
bustling and haunting city. Accommodation in a
basic hotel. (B/L/D)
Day 8: Quang Ngai – Hoi An (46 km)
Cycling to Mai Lai. This is the site of one
of the worst massacres of the American/Vietnam
War, and we will take a guided tour of the site
and museum. After that historical journey we
continue cycling into Vietnamese countryside and
visit some typical pagodas. We loop back through
quiet, rural roads to the main highway and are
transferred to Hoi An. The afternoon is free to
explore the unique heritage site of the old town
of Hoi An. Accommodation in a 2* Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 9: Hoi An (54 km)
Visit Mai Son, the ancient centre of Cham
civilization. Our bus transfers us out of town
to avoid the highway before cycling along
country back roads along the Song Tranh River to
Mai Son. We have lunch before spending the
afternoon visiting the site. We are transferred
back to Hoi An in the afternoon where we can
have dinner at a place of our choice.
Accommodation in a 2* Hotel (or below) (B/L/-)
Day 10: Hoi An – Hue (100 km)
We are transferred beyond Danang to take on
the High Van Pass and climb 500 metres over 10
km. After lunch, we turn off the main highway
and take a coastal side road for 44 km almost
all the way to our destination. Energetic riders
will make it all the way into Hue. Accommodation
in a 2* Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 11: Hue – Nam Dinh
We explore Hue and visit the citadel. Take a
boat ride along the Perfume River and visit the
tombs of the Nguyen emperors. Our bus takes us
to the train station and we catch the
Reunification Express to Nam Dinh. Accommodation
in a basic local hotel. (B/-/D)
Day 12: Nam Dinh – Cuc Phuong (60 km)

afternoon. Accommodation in a basic local hotel.
