Detail Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL - HANOI
On
arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met and
transferred to hotel. Ha Noi , Vietnam's
capital, is a stylish and gracious city that
retains an unique old world charm and some
Asia's most striking colonial architecture. The
many lakes and parks make for relaxing
atmosphere. (If time permit ) we enjoy a short
cyclo excursion through the bustling old quarter
streets named after the specific goods once
offered for sale at these places. O/N in Ha Noi.
DAY 2: HANOI
Today we enjoy a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex,
containing the mausoleum of the nation's founder
Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace and the Ho
Chi Minh's house on stilts. This complex also
comprises the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origins
date back to the foundation of city. We follow
this with a trip to the Temple of Literature
well known as Vietnam's first university and the
History Museum, which displays an excellent
collection of artifacts illustrating the
Vietnamese history. Our next stop is the
impressive Ethnologic Museum, dedicated to
Vietnam's 54 hill tribe groups, some of which we
will see on our forthcoming days. We also visit
the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem with its sacred
temple and the vibrant Dong Xuan Market before
attending a performance of Hanoi's famous water

DAY 3: HA NOI - BA BE
The journey northeast begins as we depart the town and pass through the
undulating terrain of tea plantation and the
many timeless villages linked to the road which
is the main artery of trade between the
northeastern region and the capital city. This
is our first glimpse of rural Vietnam and sets
the tone for the days ahead. Depending on road
and traffic conditions our drive will deliver us
to Ba Be by mid or late afternoon. We
stretch our legs as we take a short excursion
across the lake to a Tay tribal village. O/N in

DAY 4: BA BE - CAO BANG
The national park of Ba Be is centred on large Ba Be Lake. This is just one
continuous water body although its name means
''three lakes''. Today we embark on our boat
navigating around the lake, which gives us a
taste of relaxation and an enjoyable visit to
the park . Along the way, we make stopover at
some hill tribe villages before getting off the
beaten track to the Dau Dang Waterfalls. The
cruise continues on the main water source of Ba
Be Lake up to Cho Ra. At this small village, we
meet up with our vehicle and drive towards Cao
Bang, our final destination. O/N in Cao Bang.

DAY 5: CAO BANG - PAC PO - NAM NHUNG
Heading out of the town we travel by road to Pac Po . This mountainous
region is populated by the Tay , Dao and Nung
ethnic minority groups , some of which we will
see on our forthcoming adventure. On arrival we
have a chance to visit the historic site of Pac
Po which was useful of the marquis of Vietnam's
the revolution before we begin our extraordinary
adventure in the mountainous area of Cao Bang.
We finish our walking day on arrival at Nam
Nhung village in Ha Quang District , where we
are the guest of a Nung family. The
accommodation is very simple and dormitory
style, no western facilities. O/N at Nung

DAY 6: NAM NHUNG - TONG COT
The exciting trekking expedition begins as we depart the village of our
previous night and get well off the beaten track
following the Sino – Vietnamese frontier. Along
the way we traverse several rustic villages and
see many mountaineers doing their daily works
such as logging, herding buffalo and tilling the
field. We make stop for a picnic lunch before we
head towards Tong Cot. This remote village is
conquered by the Tay hill tribe people. They are
very poor, but have an interesting history and a
colorful culture. O/N at Tay Village. (B,L,D)
DAY 7: TONG COT - NA MA
The majority of local trails follows undulating mountainsides therefore our
trek will involve some uphill and downhill
walking, but it is still an unforgettable
experience. A part of the pleasure of our
adventure is the simple joy of seeing the
verdant and rugged mountain scenery and
exploring the lifestyle of local people. Today
we leave Tong Cot Village and embark on our walk
past the jungle only attended by the hunters and
the mountain dwellers seeking the fire wood. The
stop for tonight is Nam Ma village in Tra Linh

DAY 8: NA MA - QUANG YEN
An impressive way to start our day is a walk along the valley and
mountainside. We cross the territory inhabited
by the Tay and Nung ethnic minority people. They
are all friendly and welcoming. The trek is
difficult at times, with some steep uphill and
downhill walking; however some physical
preparation will enable you to fully appreciate
the walk. Depending on road conditions we arrive
in Quang Yen by mid or late afternoon. O/N in

DAY 9 : QUANG YEN - KHUOI MIT - THA MIANG
Upon leaving Quang Yen , we embark on bus for a drive of 20km to Khuoi Mit
Village and set off on our wak along the river
of Vat Vong, passing by the picturesque
landscapes. We arrive at Tha Miang by mid
afternoon and have time to take a wander around
this seldom visited village, enabling us to
understand a little more about their culture and
lifestyle. Here we will be toasted as honored
guests and sample some of their homemade rice
wine!. O/N at Tay Village. (B,L,D)
DAY 10 : THA MIANG - TA LUNG - CAO BANG
The following destination of our trekking expedition is Ta Lung. We walk
past the verdant and rugged mountain landscape,
with a mixture of terraced rice fields and hill
villages before arriving at this border gate.
Here we meet with our waiting vehicle and drive
back to Cao Bang Town. The remainder of the day
will be free for your own exploration of the
town and simply relaxation. O/N in Cao Bang. (B,L)
DAY 11: CAO BANG - LANG SON - HALONG
The impressive journey continues to Halong Bay, truly one of Vietnam’s most
impressive scenic sights. We spend our day
driving through many mountain areas and
timeless villages. The roads are difficult
at times but the breathtaking scenery is all
worthwhile. We have some opportunities en route
to visit the Tay, Nung and San Diu hill tribe
people. On arrival in Halong we spend the
remainder of the day for a well- earned rest on
a Beach. O/N in Halong. (B)
DAY 12 : HALONG - HANOI
Today we embark on a boat for an exploration of the legendary Ha Long Bay.
Views of sailing junks navigating past over
3,000 limestone islands and out crops jutting
out of the clear and emerald water of the bay
are nothing short of spectacular. These
limestone karst formations are littered with
beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the
way we will anchor for a leisurely swim in a
secluded cove and an enjoyable visit to one of
the many hidden grottoes beneath towering
cliffs. After a seafood lunch on board we
continue our trip and have time for another
swim. We return Ha Noi , stopping en route at
Dong Trieu pottery village. O/N in Ha Noi. (B,L)
DAY 13: HANOI - DEPARTURE
There is a free time for you to relax and further explore Ha Noi. The trip
ends after your transfer to Noi Bai Airport for
departure. (B)
